Unravelling (the enigma of) John's Gospel

Life & Learning @ Ludlow

Thursday 24 October
10:30am — 3:30pm

Ludlow Mascall Centre

A study day led by the Revd Dr Neil Richardson

The study day will alternate between input from the speaker and questions and discussion in plenary:

  • 1st Session: (John 1-4 and 21) 'These things have been written that you may believe...' Is John's Gospel as exclusive as it sounds?
  • 2nd Session: (John 5-12) 'He came to his own, and his own did not receive him...' Is John's Gospel (as) anti-Semitic (as it sounds)?
  • 3rd Session: (John 13-21) 'Abide in me and I in you....' The Contemplative Gospel
  • The Revd Dr Neil Richardson is a ‘retired’ Methodist minister and a Past President of the Methodist Conference. He has devoted much of his ministry teaching and exploring the contemporary relevance of the New Testament. He has written several books including John for Today: Reading the Fourth Gospel.
