In the Steps of Mr Lucton — a brief account of the life and works of poet and novelist Francis Brett Young (1884-1954) with particular reference to Owen Lucton's adventures on his journey from Birmingham to Leintwardine and back again, which of course includes a visit to Ludlow.

Francis Brett Young (1884-1954) was a novelist, playwright, poet and composer from Halesowen. Unable to practise medicine after the First World War he began writing, and started what became his 'Mercian novels', which are set in the West Midlands and Welsh Borders.

Dr Michael Hall, Chairman of the Francis Brett Young Society and President of the Black Country Society 2013-2015 is a Methodist Local Preacher and retired Deputy Headmaster. He is the author of 11 books and in 2013 received a British Association for Local History Personal Achievement Award.
